    Description

    The Soviet Order of the Patriotic War
    (Орден Великой Отечественной войны) was established
    on the 20th of May, 1942.
    It was awarded in two classes based upon merit. The decoration was awarded to members of the Soviet armed forces, security troops, and "partisans" for heroic deeds during the German-Soviet War (WWII) which was known by the former-Soviet Union and the present Russian state as the "Great Patriotic War."
    This is the Second Class version of the award.  It is a well-made, beautifully detailed replica of the medal, complete with functional screw-back mechanism, just like the originals.
