    Description

Up for sale is a vintage 1950’s baby doll and crib. The doll stands about 18” tall and features a brown hair wig, hard plastic head, stuffed cloth body, soft rubber limbs, grayish-blue sleep eyes and a closed mouth. There is a large squeak button in her lower back which will allow her to let out a small cry or squeak if you place her face down. Note her face is cracked on the left side and her sleep eyes do not open and close properly. There are no markings on the doll. However, the dresses she comes with are both marked “Madame Alexander” and “New York” and “All Rights Reserved” on the tags. So perhaps this is a Madame Alexander doll as well? I do not know. The clothing she is wearing may or may not be original to the doll and includes a white bonnet, matching dress and satin under garments. These clothes show typical signs of wear from age and normal play, but appear rather intricate and nicely made. There is also a second longer light pink dress accompanying this doll that has some stains and some stitching pulled out at one seam.
The crib is solid wood, varnished and measures about 25.5” long x 15” wide x 21.5” tall. It features a safety side that can be raised or lowered, as well as a set of 4 wood castors. It is also decorated with two bunnies and has a label on it that reads, “Mfd. by Whitney Bros. Co.” and “Factory: Marlboro, N.H.” and “N.Y. Office: 200 5th Ave”. Additionally, there are a number of bedding items with this crib, including the original mattress pad that is pink on one side and blue on the other side, a white cotton sheet, a pink blanket and two matching satin pillow and comforter sets (these have some stains on them). Note all items will be shipped in a very large box, but the crib will come disassembled (with all pieces and hardware included), so you will have to reassemble it yourself. You may wish to use the pictures in this listing to help you with that.
Note I am not an expert in vintage dolls and accessories and I do not feel fully qualified to evaluate them, so I will leave that up to you. I have done my best to describe these pieces as accurately as I can. Please read this description carefully and examine all the pictures, then decide for yourself if these items will meet your needs before purchasing.
