Description
The Crusade Against Communism medal (Medalia Cruciada împotriva comunismului
) was a military award of World War II. Established on April 1, 1942 by King Michael I of Romania, it was commissioned to recognize the distinguished service of Romanian and Axis military and civilian personnel. This ribbon was often awarded in conjunction with the
Ostfront
medal to German soldiers who, like my father, conquered the Crimea with Field Marshall von Manstein.
This is the ribbon bar for the
C
ruciada
medal. It is assembled using a German-made 25 mm ribbon mounted on a genuine steel bracket which remains fully functional. It is backed with field-gray wool.
